Mother’s Day Around the Bay and Beyond
Your mom is the bomb, and she deserves to be spoiled like the queen she is this Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9th. From San Francisco and Oakland to the South Bay, these restaurants are making moms feel extra special this Mother’s Day.
Chef Jason Halverson of The Vault Garden has prepared a delightful three-course brunch with a family-friendly $25 kids menu option. Please count each child separately when creating the reservation. The restaurant is accepting reservations now for parties of six or fewer from 11 am – 2 pm.
Enjoy a special day with mom at San Francisco Proper Hotel’s Afternoon Tea with springtime flavors. Make an afternoon of it with bubbles and delicious eats from Executive Chef Jason Fox, with a selection of savory sandwiches, sweet pastries and chocolates. Available 1 pm- 5 pm for indoor and outdoor dine-in options only.
Executive Chef Manish Tyagihas created a delicious four-course meal for Mother’s Day, which includes a Dahi Poor Mousse amuse-bouche, Tandoori Duck Seekh Kebab, Fish Pollichathu, Roasted Lamb Loin, and Apple Jalebi Rabdi Parfait. The menu will be available at the restaurant for safe, onsite dining as well as for pickup and delivery. Moms dining at the restaurant will be welcomed with their choice of a mimosa or glass of bubbles. Reservations can be made here.
Canela is offering moms the choice of being spoiled at home with offerings like its Morning til’ Night basket ($69) full of goodies to delight mom throughout her special day and a Mommy’s Day Off Virtual Wine Class with tastings ($55). There’s also a Mother’s Day Picnic Brunch to-go ($59). Lunch and dinner are available for indoor and outdoor dining. Reservations can be made here.
Pomella is creating special a la carte brunch dishes for Mother’s Day, including Babka French Toast, Beef Hash, Granola Parfait, and Zucchini Pancakes. Babka & a Bouquet will also be available for preorders. The flowers are from Brother & Sisters Flower Shop in Oakland.
Celebrate mom with a crab or lobster meal from alaMar, paired perfectly with complimentary roses and a mini bottle of champagne.
Chef Nelson German is cooking up unique dishes for mom, including a Braised Game Bird (similar to the dish he prepared on the first episode of Top Chef Season 18), a specialty cocktail, and Mother’s Day macarons.
Along with all of Mom’s favorite a la carte, Lazy Susan will be featuring a Mother’s Day package designed to bring the family together around the table, perhaps even with their namesake Lazy Susan!
One Market is serving up a Mother’s Day brunch 11 am-3 pm with options like Traditional Latkes, Pan-seared Alaskan Halibut, and Strawberry-Rhubarb Hand Pies as well as three-course prix-fixe menu options like Gulf Shrimp Cocktail, Spit-Roasted Prime Rib Au Jus, and Valrhona Chocolate Pot de Crème for dessert. This new farm-to-table California restaurant is offering a prix fixe menu for $59, in addition to their regular brunch and dinner menus. The three-course meal includes Mixed Baby Greens with spring blossoms, bee pollen, honey vinaigrette, Seared Sea Scallops with baby carrots, English peas, chorizo secco, champagne beurre fondue and Vanilla Cheesecake.
